This leather magnet is modeled after beloved Tottori folk toy shop Yanagiya’s Nuke (pronounced nukay) mask. The Nuke, who wears a turmeric-colored hood with eye holes, appears during festivals when the Kirin Jishi dance is performed. In the old days, when alleys were much narrower than they are now, the Nuke cleared the path ahead of the Shojo and Kirin Jishi to dance.
