Pottery stones were brought from the mountains between the fishing villages of Tago and Oguri, and fired in a kiln in between them. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eWhen the Meiji Restoration ushered in the abolishment of the shogunate in roughly 1868, this porcelain production vanished. But in March, 1971, a climbing kiln was once again built at the foot of the mountains on the side of Kiriyama Castle.
